Greem Pharmacy

Pilot Program Partner Sites Hold Completion Ceremonies

i-Scream Media spent about two months, from May through June, working with Bundang Senior Welfare Center, Gangnam Senior Welfare Center, Jungwon-gu Dementia Relief Center, Hanam Misa Senior Welfare Center, and Bravo Day Care Gangnam Lounge, running the "Greem Pharmacy" pilot program at five organizations and successfully completing every course.

The program ran for four to eight sessions, depending on each site's goals, and drew more than 100 older adults in total. Through art activities on a tablet such as drawing, coloring, puzzles, and viewing famous paintings, it stimulated cognition and emotion together.

In a satisfaction survey conducted after the program, participants gave digital activities 4.4 out of 5 and the program itself 4.3, with 91% reporting improved self-efficacy. Many said, "It was a new experience" and "I would definitely join again."

In pre- and post-tests on the Short Form of the Korean Geriatric Depression Scale (SGDS-K), conducted to verify the program's effect, average depression fell about 41%, and both the at-risk and high-risk groups shrank, pointing to real promise for a prevention-focused program.

What stood out most was that, although the operating environment and participants differed from site to site, older adults grew more comfortable with one another as the sessions went on, talking freely, viewing each other's work, and forming relationships. Participants who had handled the tablet cautiously at first went on to complete pieces in their own colors and style, building a sense of accomplishment and confidence.

Building on the results of this pilot, i-Scream Media will continue to advance the Greem Pharmacy service and work with more welfare organizations and communities to expand prevention-focused cognitive and emotional programs built on AI and digital technology.
