Through technical verification of its AI-based senior cognitive art program "Greem Pharmacy," i-Scream Media confirmed that participants' depression scores fell by an average of 33%. The company plans to run further field trials at day care centers in partnership with the senior care company byL.

i-Scream Media announced on the 17th that it has completed a proof-of-concept (PoC) project for its senior cognitive art program "Greem Pharmacy" and confirmed its effects on emotional care and depression.

Since April, the company has verified the program's effects in partnership with major institutions in the greater Seoul area, including Gangnam Senior Welfare Center, Bundang Senior Welfare Center, Hanam Misa Senior Welfare Center, and the Dementia Relief Center in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam.

"Greem Pharmacy" is a senior-focused cognitive art program that uses AI and digital technology to support cognitive, emotional, social, and sensory activity. It was developed to help prevent cognitive decline, provide emotional stability, and broaden social interaction.

In tests using the Short Form of the Korean Geriatric Depression Scale (SGDS-K) with the seniors who took part, depression scores fell by an average of 33% after the program, and the share of participants in the at-risk group dropped by 50%.

The digital drawing data showed changes as well. The number of colors used rose eightfold and the number of strokes fourfold, and emotional, cognitive, and sensory activity grew more vigorous as the sessions went on.

Participants also felt the emotional change firsthand, the company said. One participant in their 70s said, "At first the digital device felt unfamiliar, but drawing with all sorts of colors and meeting new people was a pleasure."
